– China Today Arts Week comes to Skåne and Malmö!

Do not miss the chance to experience Chinese culture at its best! China Today Arts Week is organized every year in different countries around the world, aiming to show both traditional and contemporary Chinese culture. During the seven days you are offered a great programme of amazing musical experiences, contemporary dance, world-class puppet theatre, the best of contemporary Chinese cinema and fascinating lectures. Welcome to a unique week focusing on Chinese culture.

China Today Arts Week 2011 / ArtsNordica Events

ArtsNordica is a vital part of the China Today Arts Week through the event co-organizer Hyllie Park folk high school and several participating ArtsNordica artists. ArtsNordica events during the week:

Thursday September 29, 17:00: The Mystery Of Health
Lectures on acupuncture and cardiovascular diseases. Calligraphy painters, music and dancing. Treatment and prevention with Chinese herbal medicine as well as western methods and medicines. Lecturer on acupuncture: Mingxiu Wan, certified physician. Lecturers on Chinese herbal medicine: Chun-Ming Chai, MD, PhD. Music: Xiaogang Zeng, guqin (Chinese stringed instrument). Dancing: Minjia Liu Halvarsson. (Xiaogang Zeng and Minjia Liu are former Kunming / TCG Nordica performers who now resides in Malmö/Göteborg.) MC: Maria Mörnerud (Ringblom). NB! The lectures are in English. Location: Palladium. The event is co-organized with SCCC.


Friday September 30, 18:00–20:00: Chinese workshop
An event suitable for the whole family, with dancing, calligraphy, music... Liu Minjia Halvarsson, Xiaogang Zeng, Maria Mörnerud and others. Location: Hyllie Park folk high school, Elinelundsvägen 55, (in Hyllie). Information and tickets: www.hylliepark.se/fhsk


September 26–October 31: Chinese-Swedish art exhibition
... at Hyllie Park, Cafégalleriet, by artists from Malmö who have been exhibiting or involved in art projekts in China: Janeric Johansson, Per Johansson–Engman, Eva Bakran, Tsui YingSin, Tang Zhigang, Mao Xuhui, Liu Lifen, Nina Chen. More information: www.hylliepark.se/fhsk


Saturday October 1, 12:00: Traditional Chinese Lion Parade
... in the centre of Malmö. Starts at Gustav Adolfs Torg. Join ArtsNordica and the other organizers in a colorful Chinese parade to celebrate the last two days of perfomances and fun.

China Today Arts Week is presented by Musik i Syd, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) and the Chinese Embassy in cooperation with the region of Scania, the Swedish Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), Hyllie Park folk high school, Dansstationen and Biograf Spegeln.
